Battery energy storage system (BESS) at an industrial site in Finland

Ensure security of supply and competitiveness in a volatile energy market

Electricity prices, availability, and connection capacity are increasingly becoming critical constraints for production, growth, and investment. Gridify helps industrial and energy companies discover how energy storage, hybrid systems, and other flexibility solutions can mitigate risks, unlock capacity, and improve energy system control.

We dimension each solution based on your facility’s unique consumption data, grid connection, process requirements, and business objectives.

Our team has delivered demanding energy and industrial projects.

Why now

Electricity has become a strategic factor of production

Consumption is growing, connection capacity is tightening in places, and generation varies more with the weather. Managing electrical power is no longer only a procurement question. It is part of the ability to invest, to keep production running and to compete.

Data centre electrical infrastructure and connection capacity

Rising demand

Connection capacity can decide the timetable for growth

Data centres, electrifying industry, electric boilers, charging infrastructure and Power-to-X are adding demand quickly. The availability of new power can become a critical schedule constraint well before financing, permits or construction.

Flexibility does not replace a grid connection in every case, but it can use the existing connection more efficiently and reduce peak demand.

Wind power and weather-dependent electricity generation in Finland

More variable generation

Flexibility decides when electricity is worth using

Most of Finland’s new generation is wind and solar. When output follows the weather, prices, available power and the need to balance the system can change within hours.

Energy storage and controllable loads let a company respond in a controlled way, without putting production or critical processes at risk.

Who it is for

Where on-site flexibility creates the most value

A flexibility solution is always site-specific. Sector and company size matter less than the load profile, connection limits, power charges, reliability requirements and the ability to shift load.

Manufacturing industry

Energy storage and load control can cut demand peaks, support power adequacy and reduce the risk of electrical disturbance to production. The process always sets the operating limits.

Data centres

High, steady electricity use, strict reliability requirements, backup-power systems and growing capacity need make data centres significant flexibility sites. A solution can use connection capacity more efficiently and support power quality.

Hydrogen and Power-to-X

Controllable electricity use can take advantage of price variation and support production economics. We assess electrolyser constraints, the grid connection, energy storage and market risk as one system.

District heat and energy production

Electric boilers, heat pumps, thermal storage, combustion plant and on-site generation form a system whose value comes from joint control. The aim is to use electricity, heat and storage in the way that best serves the business at each moment.

Logistics, retail and buildings

High-power charging, refrigeration, heat pumps and building systems can create short but expensive demand peaks. Flexibility helps manage the load and can reduce the need to reinforce the connection.

Renewable generation

Alongside wind and solar, energy storage can improve the controllability of generation, reduce imbalance and curtailment risk, and allow power to be sold more flexibly with the market.

Critical infrastructure

Designed for critical infrastructure

Energy storage is connected to the grid, the site electrical system and often to control systems. Technical reliability, cybersecurity, maintenance and contract terms therefore need the same care as the price of the equipment.

For organisations that run critical infrastructure

An energy store is connected directly to production, the grid and the plant control system, which makes it part of critical infrastructure. We offer Finnish-made equipment first, so origin, maintenance and secure remote access can be verified.

Keeping critical infrastructure in operation

Storage sits on the same systems that keep the plant running and the grid in balance. If control is lost or an outside party reaches the device, production can stop.

Cybersecurity without compromise

Cybersecurity here comes from software and interfaces made in Finland. Then it is clear who can control the system, where updates come from and where data goes. Europe has already restricted certain suppliers on security grounds.

Domestic quality and security of supply

We prefer and primarily offer equipment manufactured in Finland. Finnish origin keeps the manufacturer, spare parts and software in trusted hands. Control of the asset and its security does not have to be left to a foreign chain.

Next step

Would on-site flexibility benefit your site?

For the preliminary evaluation, we generally require 12 months of consumption data, the network service agreement, and electricity connection details. We will review the baseline information for the site, identify the primary sources of value, and assess whether a more detailed sizing study is warranted. The assessment is free of charge and entails no further obligation.
