Battery energy storage system (BESS) at an industrial site in Finland

Gridify / About

Gridify Oy

Building capacity for growth and a transforming energy system.

Gridify helps industrial, energy, and real estate companies resolve challenges related to electrical power, flexibility, reliability, and energy economics.

Our expertise comes into play when electricity consumption grows, grid connection capacity reaches its limits, or the energy system demands greater flexibility. We design integrated solutions where energy storage, load control, backup power, dispatchable generation, and thermal systems work seamlessly as a unified whole.

What we solve

Availability of electrical power is increasingly a business question.

Finland’s electricity consumption is growing fast. Data centres, electrifying industry, electric boilers, charging infrastructure and Power-to-X need significant new electrical power. New wind, the grid and other dispatchable capacity do not necessarily arrive on the same timetable as the new demand.

That changes the operating environment. Connection size, demand peaks, timing of consumption, adequacy of backup power and the ability to flex can decide when an investment can be delivered and how controllably the site operates in a changing market.

Gridify turns these questions into a decision. We establish what at the site is limiting growth or adding risk, which technical options are available and how the solutions should be phased.

We do not treat the energy system as a single equipment purchase. We look at the whole: the connection, consumption, the production process, use of heat, backup power, automation, market terms and upcoming investment plans.

Electrical power and connection capacity

We establish how the current connection serves growth, where peaks arise, and whether capacity can be released with storage, load control or other solutions.

Energy storage and flexibility

We assess the role of storage in peak shaving, the electricity markets, reliability, reactive-power control and use of on-site generation.

Backup power and dispatchable generation

We help assess options alongside storage, such as gas turbines, engine power plants, thermal storage and other dispatchable capacity.

Property portfolios and investment priority

We look at energy, electrical power and investment potential across several sites, so measures go where they have the greatest effect.

What we believe

New generation needs new flexibility alongside it.

Finland’s energy system needs more clean generation. Wind has a central role in that. Growth of wind also increases the need for flexible solutions, because output varies with the weather and new generation does not always complete on the same timetable as new electricity use.

Demand is growing fast

Large new electricity-using sites can be completed in a few years. For companies, availability of electrical power can become a central constraint on investment, production growth and operating cost.

Wind increases the need for flexibility

Wind produces electricity when the wind blows. Alongside it, storage, demand response, thermal storage, dispatchable generation and grid capacity are needed.

A flexible site is a stronger site

A site that can manage peaks, time its consumption and support critical loads is better prepared for a changing electricity market and growing electricity use.

Founders

Technology, energy and delivery.

Gridify combines expertise from energy, industrial investment and technical delivery. We work with the customer from the moment the energy-system need is assessed through to delivery and operational development.

Partnership

Mercuria Business College, Vantaa

We work with Mercuria Business College. The partnership gives students a view of practical work in energy, and gives us a way to support the people who will work in the field.

The energy-system change needs people who can assess, design, deliver and operate new solutions, not only technology. We want to take part in building that capability.

Next step

Let’s identify what the energy transition means for your site.

Whether your focus is on power adequacy, energy storage, gas turbines, backup power, load control, or the financial performance of a property portfolio, we always start with the site’s actual data. This assessment is free of charge and carries no obligation.
